GAA COMMUNITY OFFICER

Job Description

My Client a GAA Club which has experienced strong growth over the last couple of years are now looking for a Community Officer to join their team. Led by a supportive and enthusiastic Chairman and approachable Committee; who have a genuine passion for the community and the club; they are looking to build on their success and recruit a Community Officer who can grow participation and get new players/ mentors on board.

This is a fantastic job for someone who is sporty; has a positive outlook ;sees thehuge value in sport and fitness; does not want a 9-5pm job and enjoys mixing with people and seeing children / teens enjoy the game.( For this role, you don’t necessarily have to be coming from a GAA background but obviously have an interest / passion in the game) . With having the odd team at underage level; the club are now represented in most categories but see massive potential to build and grow the club’s numbers- ladies football participation numbers have gone through the roof in particular!- and the successful candidate will be joining at an exciting time!

Background

My Client is a growing GAA club and are looking for the right person to lead the charge. They are looking for the right people to join the club and have the processes and tools in place to facilitate the growth of this constantly changing club. This role will be at the center of the Juvenile development of the club.

Purpose of the Role:

The purpose of this role is to develop and grow local participation in the Club’s Juvenile section. This will involve a mixture of building relationships within the community, running training sessions in local schools and any other tasks required to develop, promote and recruit for the Club

Responsibilities

• relationships within the local community and promotion of the Juvenile club and its benefits
• ideas for recruitment and fundraising for the Juvenile Club
• and tutoring parents to develop them into effective coaches
• structures for coaching and skills development
• coaching sessions in local primary schools

The Person

Highly energetic; positive attitude with a drive to succeed.

Great personality who enjoys working with people, especially children

Interest in sports, health and well-being, physically active lifestyle

Self-starter not requiring high amounts of supervision

Qualification in coaching or related discipline is an advantage but not essential-

IT and Social Media Savvy and Garda Vetted
