Amicus Recruitment has an excellent opportunity for a Junior Engineering Technician with a leading FMCG Multinational for a contract role. Why this company? The site , based near Cork City; where you will work produces a famous product which is produced; stocked and shipped worldwide.

* For this role;it would be advantgeous if you have machinery experience or a strong understanding of how machinery operates. *

The Role

This role helps to ensure the safe, smooth, and efficient running of the production process.

Reporting into the site Engineering lead, you will help to minimize machine related downtime by carrying out routine maintenance tasks, addressing minor machine breakdowns, assisting in training of the production staff, and liaising with on-site contractors.

The role requires a hands-on approach but also an attention to detail for administrative work. Also it would be advantgeous if you have some experience of working on machinery.

Key Activities:

Routine maintenance inspection:

– Observe and report any unusual behaviour with machinery.

– Carry out minor machine fixes and assist in any major issues.

– Communicating with other stake holders in the event of breakdowns i.e. Engineering, production etc.

Preventive maintenance duties:

– Carry out preventive maintenance tasks (PM’s) for known machine issues.

Administrative duties:

– Assist in developing new documentation i.e. SOP’s, OPL’s etc.

– Assist in training production floor when any changes are made to machinery/process.

– Update any documentation related to maintenance tasks or machine breakdowns.

– Technical support for other departments.

Maintain spares:

– Keep up to date and maintain critical spares.

On-site contractors:

– Point of contact for on-site contractors
