Executive Search & Headhunting are engagements whereby we directly approach professionals who are not currently on the market but fit the criteria of an existing role. This type of recruitment is performed in partnership with our client so that you have visibility on how introductions are being made.
There is a subtle difference between both disciplines which is worth a brief explanation. Executive Search is a search of the market performed based on a detailed job brief. The employer is not briefed in advance regarding the individuals being approached.
Headhunting is where a shortlist has been presented to the employer, and they sign off on the individuals to be approached.
If the approach is successful, the remainder of the process is managed as with a standard recruitment engagement described here.
